From #WhatIsMrsSkilesReading to #whatcolleenreads

I have always been a reader, always.  From the day my mom took me to the library and signed me up for my first library I have read everything that was placed in my hands.  My parents did not ground to my bedroom, my dad said "Whats the point, she will sit in there and read."  I was most content with listening to my walkman and reading a book.  My Christmas lists were not filled with toys or fancy clothes, it was a list of books!
Until early this summer I did not realize there was an online community of readers out there just like me.  One late night I was scrolling on Instagram and discovered the Reese Witherspoon's Book Club, @reesesbookclubxhellosunshine, which led me into the rabbit hole of the Online Reading Community.  Next came the Book of the Month Club, then Ashley Spivey's Book Club (Thanks Karen!).  I did not realize what I was missing out on.  There is actually people reading all the books I am reading and discussing them.
Over a year ago I started a hashtag #WhatIsMrsSkilesReading on our classroom Instagram to share books with students but I could not tag all the books I was reading.  I loved the feedback I was getting from my students and watching them grab a book of the shelf that I had posted earlier in the week.  I wanted share the rest of my reading library, so I decided to begin #WhatColleenReads.
I will still post my YA books under the Mrs. Skiles hashtag but I will use both for that genre.  All the books that @WhatColleenReads.
I read will be posted with #WhatColleenReads and posted to this blog and my NEW Bookstagram,

I might start out slow, I am new this blogging and Bookstagram but I am excited to share love of books to the community and to my friends.

I am also willing to share out any of the physical books I have.  Books should not sit on shelf and collect dust, they need to be read and loved!  Just let me know!

Enjoy!
